The chick eggs have arrived!!! The students are so excited and cannot wait until they all hatch. It takes 28 days for the duck eggs and 21 days for the chick eggs to incubate and then they can start hatching. Shortly after we get back from Spring Break, the ducklings and chicks will hopefully start breaking out of their shells. We have 37 duck eggs, we candled them to see if they were developing. We have 34 chick eggs. We are hoping that half of them hatch.
We are working on being kind to our friends, both outside at recess and in the classroom. We have been having some problems remembering to keep our hands to ourselves, and use kind words when speaking to each other. We think of ways to show kindness during the day, so please encourage your child to continue this practice over the weekend.
Remember that March 26th through March 30th is Spring Break. We hope that you enjoy the time with your family. It goes by quickly..
This week, students were visited by a little friend. A leprechaun came to our classroom and left us some gold.
We have been working on addition and subtraction in math. We are also working on one more or one less. This language can be tricky for kinders to understand.
The students learned a new word this week ‘was’. Please have your child tell you a sentence using our new word. Can they spell it using sign language?
Classroom Happenings: Dialogue with your child
Important information:
Challenge Work: Optional: 1) Write a story about your favorite thing. 2) How many different kind of chickens do you think there are? Can you find some names of chickens?
Have a wonderful weekend. Nayoko
